We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Elwyn. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide speech and language therapy services to students with speech and language disorders. Your expertise will help students develop effective communication skills and participate in their education to their maximum capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide speech and language therapy to assigned students in a classroom-based setting, working with classroom staff to practice and develop effective communication skills.
- Conduct evaluations, assessments, and analyze data to determine the strengths and areas of concern or need in speech, communication, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills.
- Develop and implement individualized speech and language plans, including small-group and individual services, to target goal-specific skills identified in the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Participate in data review, Pre-IEP and IEP meetings, and collaborate with the IEP team to develop communication goals.
- Assist with the use of augmentative and alternative communicative devices (AAC) and provide training to students, staff, and families on their use.
- Complete all documentation and share recommendations related to IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification in Speech Instruction or Speech Communication.
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification (CCC).
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) considered.
- Experience working with both verbal and nonverbal students (ages 3-21 years) in Autism Support, Emotional Support, and Life Skills Support programs.
- Knowledge of principles, techniques, and equipment used in individual and group treatment of a wide variety of speech/language disorders.
