About the Job

The Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for assembling, testing, and modifying electrical equipment and systems under the supervision of the electrical manager. The goal is to develop and maintain advanced applied electrical engineering methods. The Electrical Systems Engineer will be involved in maintaining existing equipment and developing new equipment and processes when necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other electrical equipment and systems.
  • Modify electrical systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion and direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
  • Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing, and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Oversee new production installations and projects.
  • Identify potential areas of product and process improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Develop new methods to improve product quality and automation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with AC and DC motor drive systems.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, 480V to 25Kv.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements.
  • Process control and automation experience.
  • Fluent in AutoCad. 2 to 5 years of experience with AutoCad required.
  • Experience in PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and networking.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within western PA and surrounding areas to perform field work and service customers.
  • Ability to work 50+ hours per week, when necessary, and be on-call and work weekends, when necessary.

Preferred Experience

  • Hydraulics systems experience desired.
