Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Strategic Water Resources Planner to join our team at American Water. As a key member of our planning department, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing long-term water and wastewater system plans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water resources engineering and/or planning, with a focus on strategic planning, asset management, and capital planning. You will work closely with our operational teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and develop comprehensive plans to address these needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement long-term water and wastewater system plans, including strategic planning, asset management, and capital planning
- Collaborate with operational teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and develop comprehensive plans to address these needs
- Conduct system capacity evaluations, analysis of source, production, distribution, storage, or other system deficiencies
- Prepare and maintain asset investment plans and strategic capital expenditure plans

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Environmental or Civil preferred)
- 4+ years' experience in water resources engineering and/or planning
- Strong process, project, and program management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership presence and ability to influence across the organization

What We Offer

- Competitive salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience
