Position Overview:

A Customer Relationship Banker plays a crucial role in fostering and enhancing customer connections while employing a consultative sales approach to proactively deliver tailored solutions that assist both new and existing clients in reaching their financial aspirations. This role also encompasses providing sales, service, and operational assistance to the retail banking team, embodying Civista Bank's commitment to enriching the financial well-being of our employees and stakeholders, and positively impacting the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Engage with customers daily to cultivate relationships, which includes processing transactions, evaluating needs, recommending products, and referring partners to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of products and services to meet customer requirements; open new accounts, perform account maintenance, achieve cross-selling objectives, and resolve issues on a daily basis.
  • Commit to personal development through continuous learning, adapting to new processes and systems to advance the organization and team.
  • Ensure operational tasks are completed consistently and accurately on a daily basis.
  • Execute customer requests promptly and with precision.
  • Maintain cash levels and manage outages in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Foster constant and consistent communication both internally and externally.
  • Adhere to regulations and follow policies and procedures to ensure the safety and soundness of both customers and the bank.
  • Promote and facilitate the use of technology in everyday banking interactions, including educating customers on mobile banking, P2P transactions, online banking, and more.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 2-3 years of prior experience in a teller role is required.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines amidst frequent interruptions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Above-average proficiency with technology and a willingness to adapt to new software solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves eye strain due to regular use of computer screens and reading reports.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks at hand, even in distracting work environments.
  • Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, hear, write, and communicate professionally both in person and via telephone.
  • Some travel may be required for meetings and training.
