POSITION OVERVIEW:

The selected candidates will embark on a journey to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a comprehensive 4-8 week onboarding and training program. This program includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service, culminating in a certification that allows candidates to showcase their skills necessary for success in the Retail Personal Banker role. The Personal Banker I position is centered around a Financial Center, focusing on a consultative sales approach to proactively identify and fulfill the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role emphasizes acquiring new households and enhancing existing customer relationships through various activities, including lobby leadership and tele-consulting.

The Personal Banker I is accountable for processing teller transactions and collaborating with the platform staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to create a comprehensive customer profile and identify both current and future financial needs.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services, recommending suitable solutions based on our value proposition.
  • Employ CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively engage with customers and schedule appointments for financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross-selling to the existing customer base while participating in outside sales activities as directed.
  • Build strong relationships with assigned Business Partners, referring customers when necessary to provide timely and holistic financial solutions.
  • Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals, contributing to year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Guide Customer Service Representatives in the sales and referral process.
  • Foster customer satisfaction through a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Address customer inquiries confidently and take ownership of customer issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold a position of trust and responsibility.
  • Adhere to the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring ethical behavior at all times.
  • Follow established policies and procedures while managing the full range of Retail products.
  • Engage in the consumer loan and bankcard process, overseeing sourced loans from application to closing.
  • Assist in the opening and closing processes of the Financial Center as directed.
  • Stay informed on Retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk.
SUPERVISORY ROLE:

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree or relevant work experience providing transferable skills.
  • Experience in the financial sector is preferred.
  • Proven ability to engage in sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households and small business customers.
  • Strong understanding of advanced math functions for analyzing credit and financial information.
  • Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in appearance and communication.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound decision-making.
  • This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Standard office setting.
  • Extended periods of viewing computer screens.
  • Willingness to travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate may be necessary for various training sessions.
