Position Overview:

The Activities Therapist at WMCHealth is responsible for delivering therapeutic individual and group activities tailored to the needs of patients within the Mental Health Services department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the treatment team to assist in the development of comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Create personalized therapeutic activity schedules that reflect each patient's unique needs and capabilities.
  • Facilitate individual and group activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment in alignment with the established program schedule.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in accordance with regulatory standards and timelines.
  • Document progress and services provided after each group session to track patient advancements towards treatment goals.
  • Engage in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the organization.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborative discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of one year working in the mental health or human services sector is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, art, or music is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • No specific license is required for this position.

Special Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute therapeutic activities using diverse media.
