Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee pricing bids from various suppliers
  • Examine project documentation, liaise with suppliers and contractors, and conduct site visits to comprehend project needs
  • Investigate material, equipment, and labor costs to provide precise estimates
  • Perform take-offs utilizing onscreen take-off software
  • Create comprehensive and timely estimates and purchase orders
  • Deliver bid packages within the designated timeframe
  • Execute cost analysis to ensure profitability and refine estimating methods
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers and trade partners
  • Manage potential change orders and maintain communication throughout project phases
  • Identify avenues for business expansion
  • Supervise the upkeep of project logs and directories
Estimator Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in construction cost estimation
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or Engineering
  • Capability to interpret and analyze architectural plans
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making skills
  • Self-driven and proactive
Assistant Estimator Duties
  • Participate in project meetings and site inspections
  • Compile bidding documents and assist with financial planning
  • Organize project files and aid in presenting budget proposals
  • Monitor deadlines and leads
  • Draft technical reports and proposals

Take Off Engineer Responsibilities
