Per Diem LPN-Medication Authorizations Position in Greenlawn, Long Island

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem LPN to join our team in Greenlawn, Long Island. As a Per Diem LPN, you will be responsible for assisting physicians in rendering patient care by performing routine nursing tasks.
Responsibilities:- Maintain examining rooms in proper order, ensuring they are clean, neat, and well-equipped.
- Assist physicians in examination of patients and perform procedures such as sigmoidoscopy, venipuncture, EKGs, and taking vital signs.
- Administer immunizations and injections as needed.
- Ensure proper flow of patients into exam rooms by periodically checking with secretarial or Central Registration staff and surveying the waiting room.
- Notify physicians or Office Manager of problems, delays, or irregularities in the schedule.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including answering inquiries made by patients and/or other callers.
- Document patient information and medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Complete forms requiring pertinent medical data, such as school forms and immunization records.
- Maintain medical records according to established policy and procedure.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment as needed.
- Current New York state nursing license.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Active BLS card from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic calculations, and comprehend and follow verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of basic biology, anatomy, and physiology, typing, and medical terminology.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other practice personnel.
- Ability to work independently, concentrate, and pay attention to detail.
