We are currently in search of a Lead Survey Technician for our Raleigh office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct topographic surveys, boundary retracement surveys, ALTA surveys, as-built surveys, and control surveys.
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the survey crew, ensuring motivation to complete tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Utilize robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, automatic levels, and data collectors.
  • Perform survey data processing and quality control.
  • Train junior survey technicians on the use of survey equipment, methodologies, and safety practices.
  • Ensure the precision and thoroughness of field survey operations.
  • Oversee survey crew productivity and adherence to project timelines.
  • Engage with project stakeholders while operating in the field.
  • Maintain, inspect, and calibrate survey equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of four years of progressive field survey experience under a licensed surveyor.
  • Proficient in operating GNSS receivers and robotic total stations.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, maps, and specifications.
  • Capable of taking survey notes and creating field sketches/drawings.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Dependable with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Physical capability to traverse rough and uneven terrain and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly over challenging terrain.
  • Vision adequate for performing survey tasks and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid NC Driver's License with a clean driving record and the ability to drive.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level III certification.
  • Basic CAD skills (Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D).
  • Experience with NCDOT route location survey practices and procedures.
  • Certified Drone Pilot (Remote Pilot Certificate; FAA Part 107).
