This position involves providing personalized medical assistance to designated patients through various communication methods, including in-person, electronic, and telephonic interactions, under the guidance of a licensed healthcare professional. The role requires fostering positive interactions with patients and their families from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Collaboration with colleagues is essential to ensure a seamless patient experience, while also supporting the attending physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patient and provider interactions throughout the healthcare visit.
- Prepare both the patient and provider for appointments.
- Address patient inquiries before their departure and prepare the examination room for subsequent appointments.
- Deliver outstanding patient service through effective communication, both in person and over the phone.
- Complete necessary documentation, including patient registration when required.
- Maintain clinical knowledge and technical skills through ongoing professional development.
- Adapt communication and behavior to suit the specific needs of various patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and clear explanations of services.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
Experience:
- Required: Proven experience in handling confidential information and working in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Certifications:
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Clinical expertise.
- Proficiency in computer systems, software, and web applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to exert moderate force occasionally and light to moderate force frequently. Employees may be required to lift and move objects, and reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and potential communicable diseases is inherent in this position, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
