Position Overview:
The MRI and X-Ray Imaging Specialist is accountable for executing MRI and X-ray examinations that yield high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts radiographic procedures adhering to established protocols for patient care and safety, including the appropriate technical factors.
- Ensures consistent and proper utilization of the Rex value range in Digital Radiography (DR).
- Prepares and positions patients optimally for imaging.
- Accurately labels images according to departmental standards.
- Reviews and adjusts images for quality, making them accessible to healthcare providers via the computer system.
- Implements various radiation protection measures, including shielding for patients and monitoring materials for staff, while maintaining compliance documentation.
- Assists patients in navigating to and from imaging rooms.
- Prepares patients for imaging procedures, ensuring a thorough screening process with safety as a priority.
- Executes imaging procedures in accordance with established safety protocols, ensuring all required anatomy is scanned with the correct technical settings for optimal image quality.
- Communicates any concerns regarding imaging results to Radiologists for further diagnostic consideration.
- Prepares and administers contrast materials as necessary, providing patients with appropriate instructions.
- Conducts quality assurance procedures in line with the manufacturer's recommendations for MRI and radiographic equipment.

Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
- Verifies that imaging equipment is functioning correctly and maintains necessary maintenance records.
- Troubleshoots radiography equipment and software issues, contacting service providers when needed.
- Ensures imaging rooms are clean and stocked with essential supplies, communicating supply needs as they arise.

Proactive Engagement:
- Actively seeks out assignments and takes on additional responsibilities when patient flow allows.
- Proposes innovative ideas or suggests enhancements to existing processes.
- Attempts to resolve issues independently before escalating to supervisors or vendors.
- Provides support and coverage for fellow imaging staff to ensure timely completion of all imaging requests.

Collaboration:
- Works collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare providers, and management.
- Shares knowledge and insights constructively with team members.
- Willingly covers shifts and stays beyond scheduled hours when clinic demands require it, ensuring workflow continuity without direct supervision.
- Addresses conflicts directly with involved parties before escalating to management.
- Demonstrates consideration for others regarding breaks, meal periods, and noise levels in the department.

Compliance and Procedures:
- Understands and adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook.
- Assists leadership in implementing necessary policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in training and adheres to compliance and risk management protocols.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an MRI clinical program and eligibility for MRI Registry within 12 months.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a current state license and professional registry (ARRT) in Radiology.
- Previous MRI experience is required; ARRT MR certification is preferred.
- Must maintain current CPR/AED certification.
