Key Responsibilities:
- Administer retirement benefit plans and ensure accurate documentation for retiree billing and deductions.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain compliance with regulatory reporting standards.
- Act as the primary liaison for plan vendors and third-party administrators, providing support to retired employees as necessary.
- Conduct research and analysis on benefits plans, recommending vendors that deliver optimal value and align with organizational needs.
- Evaluate and suggest potential plan design and cost modifications; implement new benefit initiatives.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with advisors, actuaries, brokers, and vendors to ensure precise plan management.
- Oversee the annual open enrollment process for retirees and assist with active employee enrollment.
- Manage daily governmental reporting, compliance, fiduciary obligations, and annual audits/testing.
- Execute annual 401(k) calculations and compliance assessments.
- Offer guidance and support to retired employees in resolving claims, eligibility, and coverage inquiries, advocating as necessary.
- Provide retirement planning assistance to employees nearing retirement, addressing all health, welfare, and retirement benefits.
- Ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of documentation, record-keeping, and data transfer related to services, premiums, and plan management.
- Collaborate in the creation of benefit guides and communication materials with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist.
- Develop strategies to enhance the efficiency of the retiree experience.
- Manage online pension administration and self-service platforms.
- Support the Vice President of HR and HR Manager in policy maintenance and process enhancements.
- Provide backup for various HR functions and perform general administrative duties.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and implementing retirement plans, including pensions and retiree benefits, is required.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, DOL regulations, and the ACA is essential.
- In-depth understanding of laws and regulations governing pension and retirement benefits.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Retirement Plan Professional Certification is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
