Foster Care Social Services Specialist at LifeCare Coalition Outreach-Foster Family Agency

We are seeking a committed Foster Care Social Services Specialist to deliver essential emotional and administrative assistance to our clients, whether in individual or group environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct orientations and training sessions for prospective resource family home applicants.
  • Evaluate and assess applications for potential resource family homes.
  • Assess children for appropriate placement in resource or foster family homes.
  • Facilitate placements and supervise/visit children in accordance with established policies.
  • Timely update documentation and reports.
  • Provide supportive services to assigned families.
  • Stay informed on Child Protective Services (CPS) and Probation System protocols.
  • Foster understanding of approval processes and regulations.
  • Assist with transportation needs and oversee events.
  • Participate in meetings and court hearings as required.
  • Act as a liaison between families, educational institutions, and agencies.
  • Respond to cases of child abuse or emergencies effectively.
  • Maintain open communication with staff and service providers.
  • Monitor visits and attend decision-making meetings.
  • Engage in continuous training for professional growth.

Additional Duties:

  • Provide on-call services during weekends and after hours.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate events and support office operations.

Social Work Personnel Responsibilities:

  • Train potential resource families on program objectives and regulations.
  • Develop and update service plans for foster children.
  • Supervise placements and provide necessary support.
  • Maintain regular contact with Case Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in social work or related fields.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients effectively.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience and coursework related to social services.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in time management and problem-solving.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to travel.
  • Meet all state-required conditions of employment.
