The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of experience in mainline or used vehicle reconditioning, with a preference for those familiar with luxury automotive brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and review repair orders from the service dispatcher.
- Execute tasks as specified on the repair order with precision and efficiency, in line with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Identify the root cause of any issues and carry out necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with the parts department to procure required components.
- Preserve and label parts if the service is under warranty or upon customer request.
- Inspect vehicles to assess if additional safety or service work is necessary.
- Inform the service advisor promptly if any additional work is deemed unnecessary.
- Communicate with the service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeframe.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Conduct road tests on vehicles when necessary or refer to the designated test technician, ensuring customer vehicles are not used for personal errands.
- Oversee the work of any apprentice technicians assigned to you.
- Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions.
- Stay updated on factory technical bulletins.
- Ensure that customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition.
- Keep the workshop area organized and ensure accountability for all dealership-owned tools.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and report any incidents to a manager or supervisor immediately.
