Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Multiskilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at St. Mary's Health Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services in our medical laboratory and patient care areas.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and process blood samples according to established protocols.

• Receive, transport, and verify patient specimens.

• Maintain and sterilize equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and clean environment.

• Operate electrocardiograph machines and attach electrodes to patients as needed.

• Review patient records, instruct patients, and monitor patients during procedures.

• Identify and correct artifacts, edit and forward results to attending physicians for analysis and interpretation.

• Maintain phlebotomy and EKG equipment and supplies.

• Assist with obtaining patient vital signs, height, and weight as needed.

• Transfer patients to the Medical Imaging department as required.

• Perform clerical duties, including answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data, ordering tests, data entry, chart preparation, and filing as needed.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of one year of experience in EKG and/or phlebotomy preferred.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, think critically, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on integrity, friendliness, and compassion.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Language Skills:

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow instructions in English.
