This role involves ensuring accurate and efficient medication distribution and fulfillment for patients. It requires timely final approval of dispensed prescriptions, proper labeling, and warnings, as well as verifying appropriate directions for use.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate and efficient medication distribution and fulfillment
  • Timely final approval of dispensed prescriptions
  • Proper labeling and warnings
  • Verifying appropriate directions for use
  • Overseeing machines that sort, dispense, and label medications
  • Assuring delivery method selected with properly identified delivery location
  • Mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements
  • Compounding and dispensing medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists
  • Preparing sterile solutions and infusions for use in facilities or patients' homes
  • Proper billing and record-keeping of medications dispensed and shipped
  • Proper storage and security conditions for drugs
  • Receiving and storing incoming supplies, verifying quantities against invoices
  • Entering inventory data into the computer
Requirements
  • BS in Pharmacy
  • Active NJ pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2+ years' experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging
  • Strong analytical skills and good clinical judgment
  • Strong technical skills to monitor and make suggestions about proprietary system development/enhancements
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
