About the Role

The Pharmacist assumes responsibility for pharmacotherapy outcomes using knowledge, skills, and technology. This role involves medication distribution, final approval, labeling, warnings, and verification of prescriptions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate, efficient, timely, and compliant medication distribution and fulfillment.
  • Provide timely final approval for dispensed prescriptions, assuring correct drug, dosage form, quantity, days' supply, number of refills, and packaging.
  • Oversee operation of machines that sort, dispense, and label medications, verifying their results.
  • Assure delivery method selection with proper identified delivery location.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
  • Prepare sterile solutions and infusions for use in facilities or patients' homes.
  • Ensure proper and compliant billing and record keeping of medications dispensed and shipped.
  • Oversee proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
  • Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies, entering inventory data into the computer.
  • Establish a routine check of expiration dates on stocked drugs.
  • Ensure controlled substance record keeping.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and address stock needs or shortages.
  • Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms and records.
  • Oversee Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance to company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure patient care decisions and actions, coding/billing, and documentation using proprietary software system.

This position requires a BS in Pharmacy, an active NJ pharmacist license, and 2+ years' experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging, preferably with some exposure to geriatrics/chronic care.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 3:30 p.m. - 12 a.m., onsite at our facility.
