Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Labor and Delivery department at St. Michael Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care to women who are admitted to the Family Birth Center.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct maternal-fetal assessments to identify potential risks and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide nursing support to laboring patients, utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management techniques.
  • Stabilize and transition normal newborns at delivery, ensuring a smooth transition to postpartum care.
  • Circulate and scrub for Cesarean Sections, providing expert care to patients undergoing surgical delivery.
  • Care for post-surgical patients, monitoring their condition and providing necessary interventions.
  • Assist the anesthesiologist with insertion of epidural anesthesia and provide care to patients with regional anesthesia.
  • Provide care to high-risk maternity patients, working closely with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a BSN degree preferred.
  • Experience as an RN, with training provided for specialty.
  • Previous recent Labor and Delivery experience is preferred, or one to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program.
  • Registered Nurse licensure issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification, with quarterly RQI competency certification post-hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completion within six months of date of hire.
  • National Certification Corporation (NCC) or American Nurses Credentialing Center certification preferred.
