Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide exceptional patient care and support to our medical providers, ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist medical providers with day-to-day delivery of healthcare and patient care management
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs and documenting patient information
  • Confer with medical providers regarding patient tests and consults, and respond to patient communications in a timely manner
  • Prepare and maintain clinical supplies and equipment, and ensure proper instrumentation and equipment are available for use
  • Perform suture removals, injections, and assist with examinations and office procedures as needed
  • Verify patient/specimen information and record tissue specimen(s) and enter them into log
  • Triages and responds to patient communications in a timely manner, usually same day or within 24 hours
  • Assists with scheduling tests and treatments, and processing referrals to other providers
  • Creates, maintains, copies/scans and files patient encounters, records and other documents as required and necessary in the electronic patient record
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED and current certification
  • One year medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks with a diverse population
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and record test results
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations
Work Environment:

The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis.
