POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role involves working with individuals facing challenges related to substance use, mental health, and the criminal justice system. The Recovery Nurse will provide detoxification support, oversee medication management, offer recovery counseling, and deliver mental health services while facilitating connections to additional Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) resources.

Collaboration with counselors is essential, as this position entails delivering both individual and group counseling sessions. The focus will be on imparting strategies for maintaining a substance-free lifestyle and assisting clients in developing a comprehensive relapse prevention plan as part of their long-term recovery journey.

The clientele served within this program presents a diverse array of criminogenic, social, and psychiatric needs, which are effectively addressed through coordinated efforts with BCI Forensic Counselors, Case Managers, and various external organizations.

The selected candidate must demonstrate comfort in a team-oriented environment and possess the ability to manage clients effectively within the unit.

The Detoxification Unit receives funding from the State of Florida and Okaloosa County, making continued employment contingent upon the ongoing financial support of this program.

BCI is actively seeking qualified candidates for our Detox team. Ideal applicants will exhibit strong observational skills, a positive demeanor, and the capacity to engage effectively with behavioral health patients, driven by a genuine desire to support the community.

Working with BCI as a Recovery Nurse is both rewarding and impactful, as you contribute to enhancing the lives of the clients we serve daily.

Recovery Nurses play a crucial role in providing direct care to patients experiencing various mental health challenges and/or developmental disabilities. They fulfill an essential front-line function by observing, treating, and interacting with patients, executing Prescriber orders, and coordinating necessary care and services. They also provide feedback on treatment efficacy and report any unusual symptoms requiring professional intervention.

BCI Recovery Nurses are involved in both the development and execution of patient Treatment Plans. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, addressing inquiries regarding medications, making referrals to other BCI departments, assisting Prescribers with daily responsibilities, and collecting pertinent information to support the Prescriber.

New team members will receive comprehensive training, mentoring, and coaching throughout the onboarding process. This position operates on weekdays, with no evening, holiday, or weekend shifts.
