Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Lead to join our team at WIKA USA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Line Support: Assist the supervisor in maintaining production line operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Production Startups and Shutdowns: Coordinate the startup and shutdown of production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal production efficiency.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with planning, parts, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure seamless production flow.
  • Data Management: Track and enter data into MRP and Excel spreadsheets to monitor production performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cell Operations Support: Support cell operations to meet shift production goals and ensure the achievement of daily production targets.
  • Daily Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities for daily improvements to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and special instructions (SIs) to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Shift Supervision: Communicate with shift supervisors and other support groups to ensure effective production operations.
  • Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to 5S principles and maintaining a high level of housekeeping.
  • Shift Paperwork: Complete shift paperwork (SQDC) accurately and on time to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Production Support: Assist in production as needed to ensure the achievement of production targets.
  • Material Availability: Ensure material availability at workstations to prevent production delays.
  • Line Operations: Fill in for line operations as needed to ensure continuity of production.
  • Production Leadership: Maintain production operations in the supervisor's absence, ensuring the achievement of production targets.
  • Ancillary Duties: Perform ancillary duties as needed to support production operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary coursework preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required for data entry and production management.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Two to five years of manufacturing experience, with knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Lean Concepts: Understanding of basic lean concepts, Kanban, inventory, and workflow principles.
  • Problem-Solving: Understanding of basic problem-solving methodologies.
  • Physical Demands: Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to stand for long periods up to eight or more hours at a time.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a noisy environment; specific vision abilities required, including color vision and the ability to distinguish between subsets of individual colors and quality of colors.
  • Overtime: Ability to work overtime if required, including weekends.
