POSITION SUMMARY
The control room technician plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the production processes within our food manufacturing operations. This position is essential for ensuring that all operations are conducted smoothly, efficiently, and safely through the use of advanced control systems while promptly addressing any issues that may arise. The technician collaborates closely with team members to maintain optimal production levels and uphold stringent quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Continuously monitor control panels, displays, and associated equipment to ensure all processes operate correctly and efficiently.
• Execute cleaning in place (CIP), cleaning out of place (COP), and sanitization of production lines and fillers.
• Operate and fine-tune controls on machinery to manage and synchronize various production parameters, including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and ingredient mixing.
• Quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve operational issues or malfunctions in the production process to minimize downtime.
• Accurately document operational data, including production rates, quality metrics, and any incidents or anomalies.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety concerns.
• Work collaboratively with quality assurance team members to ensure products meet required specifications and standards.
• Assist engineering personnel with routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, fellow operators, engineering staff, and other departments regarding operational status, GMP readiness, issues encountered, and necessary actions.
• Additional specific duties and responsibilities may be assigned as operational needs evolve.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating control rooms in a processing environment utilizing PLCs or similar control systems.
• 1-2 years of experience operating processing and/or packaging equipment in a food manufacturing setting under GMP conditions is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using, troubleshooting, adjusting, and configuring control systems, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller Systems), and other relevant software applications.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify root causes and resolve operational issues.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in monitoring, recording data, and maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to comprehend and execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Capability to read and understand equipment manuals and electrical diagrams for setting up control loops is a plus.
B. LANGUAGE SKILLS
The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The individual must be proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measure.
D. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
