Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine & Population Health at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a part-time, non-benefited hourly research assistant to support primary care research study activities. This position will be responsible for participating in research activities, including recruitment, screening, consenting, and enrollment, as well as assisting with qualitative and quantitative data collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in research activities, including recruitment, screening, consenting, and enrollment.
  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection.
  • Review and record medical documentation and patient surveys into databases.
  • Assist with medical chart abstraction.
  • Organize patient lists, prepare for printing, and assemble large survey mailings.
  • Contact community resources and primary care practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including planning and scheduling meetings.
  • Support the PI and other senior study staff with study activities to ensure compliance with all requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous research experience, including experience handling large data sets and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Able to maintain HIPAA standards as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment.
  • Availability to work on-site at the office location.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of direct research experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, REDCap, and/or Epic.
