Geology Instructor

Job Summary:

Germanna Community College is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach Geology courses. As an adjunct professor, you will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Teach Geology courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and success.
• Use relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
• Maintain consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success.
• Teach in a variety of modalities, including virtually.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline.
• Official transcripts required prior to final offer.
• Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems.
• Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment.
• Technology capability to teach remotely.
• Demonstrate competency and commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching.
• Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
