Nurse Practitioner

Outreach Development Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adolescents in our residential treatment program.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will assess the health-related needs of our clients, monitor their ongoing health and wellbeing, and provide direct care and coordination of health services. This includes conducting health assessments, providing on-call nursing services, and serving as the healthcare coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct and/or monitor all medication calls and health calls as scheduled
- Supervise the Licensed Practical Nurse daily
- Work with clients and guardians to schedule medical appointments and conduct follow-up as required
- Complete a Supervisory Note twice a month for full-time and once a month for part-time LPNs
- Work with the Agency psychiatrist to ensure client medication and pharmacy refills are completed in a timely manner
- Provide on-site health services to address emerging and/or current health needs of adolescent clients
- Provide training and guidance to key staff members on emergency health situations
- Establish and monitor health-related policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment
- Provide immediate first aid in health emergencies and escort clients to emergency services as needed
- Attend Supervision with the Nurse Supervisor at least once a month or as necessary
- Conduct health assessments and make recommendations on appropriateness for participation in treatment
- Follow up on health-related referrals and maintain a tracking system for client contacts and health issues
- Effectively communicate with staff on health-related issues and create, organize, and facilitate health and wellness activities
- Provide staff education on health-related responsibilities and issues
- Prepare Health Alert documentation and create, organize, and facilitate training on crisis intervention
- Participate in agency-wide meetings and unit meetings
- Ensure all medical forms are reviewed for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
- Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely manner
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
