Opportunity for Advanced Battery Production Engineer at Blue Origin

  • Engage in the design and execution of New Glenn, an innovative heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.
  • Supervise the creation, assembly, and evaluation of flight batteries for diverse spaceflight applications.
  • Lead the proof of concept initiatives for battery production, define manufacturing equipment requirements, and formulate operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality standards and meticulously manage hardware configurations throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering disciplines, a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency in areas such as GD&T, MES, and DFM.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on manufacturing and engineering experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of battery systems production, GD&T, MES, and DFM.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, cost assessment, and vendor relationship oversight.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and locations.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and technical communication skills.
  • Must fulfill U.S. citizenship or residency criteria.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing work instructions, project scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with material characteristics and testing methodologies.
