Overview:
Under general supervision, the Logistics Warehouse Specialist is accountable for the selection, packaging, and dispatch of all incoming and outgoing goods, alongside the responsibilities related to shipment preparation.
Responsibilities:
1. Assemble orders and prepare items for dispatch.
2. Document shipment details, including weight, charges, and space availability.
3. Assist in moving materials and items from the receiving area to designated storage locations.
4. Facilitate outbound shipments using appropriate packing techniques and third-party delivery services.
5. Fulfill orders ready for shipment via will call, delivery, or installation.
6. Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
7. Report damages and discrepancies to initiate reimbursement or re-shipment.
8. Maintain logs of all outgoing and incoming shipments.
9. Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute accordingly.
10. Allocate products to the appropriate rack, shelf, or bin location according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand, or product code.
11. Prepare monthly production and volume reports to assess productivity and prepare billing charges.
12. May perform any of the following functions at the direction of management:
- Handle hazardous materials.
- Navigate through the computer system to perform specified duties.
- Assist with the execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Unpack and inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, document shortages, and communicate with the shipper to resolve issues.
- Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environments.
3. Proficient in operating power tool equipment including, but not limited to, cherry pickers, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
4. Previous experience in material handling is essential.
5. Familiarity with scanning equipment, internal database tracking systems, dollies, and carts.
6. Basic computer skills are required.
7. Excellent customer service skills, along with a professional demeanor and appearance.
8. Ability to work overtime and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands:
1. Physical activity is required, including bending, reaching, lifting, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
2. May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
3. Experience operating power tool equipment.
4. If required to operate a forklift, must be forklift certified and capable of using a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work areas.
