Job Overview

Position Title: Culinary Support Staff

Department: Kitchen/Senior Division

Employment Type: Part-Time (Monday-Friday, mornings with occasional evenings and weekends)

Reporting To: Senior Director; Kitchen Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Senior Director and Kitchen Supervisor, the Culinary Support Staff will assist in the preparation, storage, and serving of meals in compliance with the ENP Provider Administrative standards and the Aging and Independence Services guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of snacks and meals according to established menus and USDA meal standards.
  • Support team members in executing daily operational tasks.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Transport boxes, kitchen tools, and food items within the kitchen and storage areas as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to engage in physical activities including climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Understanding of food service regulations as outlined by the ENP Provider Administrative and Aging and Independence Services.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain certifications in CPR, Food Handling, and First Aid.
  • Ability to successfully complete an annual physical examination and TB test.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of relevant experience in food services.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Agreement to maintain a Drug-Free workplace as a condition of employment, including compliance with pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Indian Preference will be observed, prioritizing fully qualified applicants who are Pala Tribal Members. The Pala Band of Mission Indians is an equal opportunity employer.
