Job Summary

Amphenol CMT and CIT is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Verify conformance of finished work pieces to drawing specifications.
  • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
  • Continuously improve lean knowledge and use tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Vocational, high school diploma, or general education degree (GED).
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with high attention to detail and accuracy.
