Key Responsibilities- Makes medical appointments for individuals and arranges transportation as needed
- Ensures medications are ordered, documented, and discharged as required
- Checks medication and medical supplies regularly to maintain adequate stock
- Files resident medical records in accordance with agency policy
- Documents all activities in the electronic medical record system
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and prepares them for clinician visits
- Reports pertinent clinical findings to the nurse or clinician as indicated
- High School Diploma or GED
- Driver's License (Required)
- Prior DSP, Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Assistant experience is a plus
- Must be highly organized, able to work under pressure, and multi-task
- Knowledge of policies and procedures of OPWDD and state and federal regulations
- AMAP, SCIP, and CPR certifications are required
The Medical Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with individuals, clinicians, and other staff members. The ideal candidate will be able to remain professional at all times and provide exceptional care and support to our residents.
