Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional, courteous, and prompt service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Process admissions, museum store, and membership sales accurately and efficiently, meeting annual sales goals.
  • Adhere to admission and cash handling procedures, balancing the drawer before and after every shift.
  • Greets and orients visitors and self-guided groups, providing information about exhibitions and programs.
  • Participate in regular training to maintain a working knowledge of exhibitions and programs offered by the Hunter Museum.
  • Balance the welfare of the museum with the expectations of museum visitors, communicating effectively with diverse groups and resolving visitor concerns and complaints.
  • Encourage and record guest feedback through surveys.
  • Work with the maintenance department to ensure public spaces are neat, sanitized, clean, and inviting.
  • Assist with special store promotions, such as trunk shows, book signings, holiday promotions, and special group promotions.
  • Comply with the Hunter Museum standard dress code protocol for Guest Service Associates.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and curatorial exhibition walk-throughs, providing administrative support as needed.
Key Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of guest service principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to implement effective initiatives and strategies to ensure consistent excellent guest services.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Retail sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale cash register procedures.
  • Strong technological skills, including familiarity with database systems and phone applications.
  • College Degree preferred with course work in business, marketing, sales, and/or art history preferred.
