Family Case Manager

The State of Indiana is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Case Manager to join our team at the Department of Child Services. As a key member of our social services team, you will play a vital role in protecting families and children from abuse and neglect, while promoting family preservation and reunification whenever possible.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate reported incidents of child abuse, neglect, or dependency, and develop recommendations for disposition.
- Assess the level of risk to the child and remove them from the family if necessary, placing them in a protected environment.
- Perform needs assessments to determine treatment options for families and children.
- Develop case plans to assist families and children in becoming more self-sufficient in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Monitor and assess service capability treatment programs and providers to ensure consistency with the case plan.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in human services, preferably in child welfare or social services.
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of social work, casework, sociology, and group and individual counseling.
- Thorough knowledge of state and/or federal laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards affecting child protection services, foster care, family preservation, and adoption.
