Seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team at Assistance Plus. As a dynamic organization, we value our employees and are committed to creating a positive work environment.

The successful candidate will provide overall support with benefits administration, focusing on employee recognition and retention strategies. This role requires a regular office schedule, working five days a week, between 7:30am and 4:00pm.

  • Benefits Administration: Assist with all aspects of benefits administration, including new enrollments, terminations, ACA eligibility, resolving discrepancies with carriers and payroll, and answering benefit-related questions.
  • Monthly Billings: Process monthly billings from insurance providers, reviewing for accuracy, codes, and advances for payment; resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and agency; process changes within deadlines.
  • Employee Checks: Conduct monthly MaineCare and OIG checks, as well as CPS/MVR/SAMs checks for current employees every two years.

This position also involves:

  • Backing up I-9 completion for accurate guidelines upon hire.
  • Processing employee terminations and evaluations.
  • Routine clerical duties, such as photo copying, faxing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Tracking job descriptions for annual reviews and ensuring employment law posters are updated and posted.
  • Conducting exit and stay interviews, reporting findings, and presenting statistics on turnover and retention.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of five years of related experience in human resources, preferably with benefits administration and compensation experience.
  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent, plus a valid State of Maine driver's license and automobile insurance coverage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
