Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Positive Impact Health Centers INC. This role involves providing specialty assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI) including syphilis, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.

Responsibilities
  • PrEP Services Duties
  • Perform specialized assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services for persons presenting for STI screening and treatment utilizing appropriate protocols and guidelines as established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia State Department of Public Health for the diagnosis and treatment of STIs.
  • Elicit health histories related to sexual activity and presenting symptoms.
  • Use laboratory test results and clinical assessment to determine type and stage of STI and to administer or oversee administration of appropriate treatment.
  • Order appropriate immunizations, such as hepatitis A and B vaccines, based on laboratory screening results.
  • Provide one-on-one education specific to HIV/STI and other communicable diseases to persons at high-risk for infections.
  • Meet with persons at risk for HIV infection to assess for the appropriateness of starting/continuing PrEP; prescribe PrEP for eligible persons; meet with those on PrEP to review labs and update prescription.
  • HIV Care Duties
  • Conduct initial medical evaluations of patients with HIV infection for entry into HIV care, including taking an HIV history, conducting a medical history, ordering initial laboratory testing for HIV-infected patients, counseling client on antiretroviral therapy (ART), initiating ART for eligible patients, conducting follow-up visits for patients infected with HIV to assess medication adherence and side effects, other medical needs, and to review labs results.
  • Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
  • Offer prophylaxis and treatment for opportunistic infections and other illnesses.
  • Perform comprehensive physical exams of HIV-infected patients.
  • Make appropriate specialty care referrals for patients as needed.
  • General Duties
  • Attend monthly staff and team meetings.
  • Attend case discussion with Medical Director and other providers weekly as scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with PIHC policies and procedures.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements for licensure and national certification.
  • Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilate this knowledge into clinical practice.

Requirements: Master's Degree in Nursing (or higher) or Physician Assistant Degree/Program from accredited college or university, preference for at least 2-5 years of experience as NP/PA in clinical setting, Georgia Licensed NP or PA.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
