Job Summary

Control Point Associates is seeking a skilled Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician to join our team in Mt. Laurel, NJ. As a key member of our SUE crew, you will be responsible for conducting subsurface utility locations, operating data collectors, and collecting field measurements of utility designation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct subsurface utility locations using electromagnetic locating equipment, Ground Penetrating Radar, Vacuum Excavation, and Video System.
  • Collect and download field data files, and prepare field sketches.
  • Research the location of existing utility lines.
  • Perform all phases of field work, including utility designating surveys for levels A, B, and C.
  • Communicate professionally and regularly with customers on site.
  • Maintain and take care of assigned company vehicle and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 1-5+ years' experience performing subsurface utility locations.
  • High School Diploma and strong math and computer skills.
  • Ability to complete additional certificates, such as OSHA (10, 30, 40, etc.), Hazwoper, TWIC, etc.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and travel with overnight stays if required.
  • Ability to expand skillsets and adapt to new technologies.
Working Conditions

The Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician will work in the field with the SUE crew, often on busy streets or construction sites. Exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, or other conditions caused by weather, is expected.
