Manufacturing Production Coordinator is responsible for the strategic formulation, execution, and upkeep of the Production Schedule to align with anticipated Sales, Finished Goods, and Raw Material inventory objectives, as well as desired OTIF (On Time In Full) performance metrics. The Operations Scheduling Specialist collaborates with the Operations and Customer Service Teams to streamline the Production Planning process to achieve both immediate and long-term operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, training, transportation, and all regulatory requirements applicable to the organization.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to establish the Master Schedule for both Stearate and Powder manufacturing facilities.
- Generate monthly supply forecasts based on sales projections and inventory goals for absorption planning.
- Develop and implement daily production schedules, performing finite scheduling in SAP that aligns with the monthly supply forecast.
- Translate the weekly production plan into a detailed finite schedule for all production lines within the facilities.
- Guarantee that batch sheets, labels, and other necessary documentation are prepared and available prior to production needs.
- Formulate forecasts for raw materials/components and initiate purchase requisitions to ensure material availability for production.
- Facilitate effective communication with other functional support teams to address issues affecting production schedules.
- Coordinate with customer service to resolve challenges related to the fulfillment of customer orders.
- Monitor and analyze metrics comparing actual performance against planned performance (schedule adherence, inventory levels, accuracy, etc.).
- Conduct regular cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with perpetual inventory records and implement corrective measures to address discrepancies.
- Assess off-spec, blocked, and aged inventories, scheduling rework as necessary based on material status.
- Track and manage raw material/component delivery timelines to ensure alignment with production schedules.
- Collaborate with Procurement to address any delivery challenges and communicate potential production impacts.
- Work alongside the Production and Warehouse teams to prioritize and align schedules for both Stearates and Powder manufacturing.
- Engage with the Production Manager or Plant Manager to define labor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies, while being aware of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements relevant to this role.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong customer service skills, effective verbal and written communication abilities, technical aptitude, and capability to manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with SAP is required.
