Custodial Specialist Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Custodial Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a hygienic and orderly atmosphere within the facility, thereby minimizing the risk of infection. Your tasks will encompass adhering to established cleaning protocols for various spaces including educational areas, dining facilities, and restrooms. You will report directly to the Facility Manager and Health Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess training in cleaning services and a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

Effective communication with team members, the ability to follow directives, and a commitment to cleanliness standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to daily cleaning schedules
  • Manage waste disposal and sanitize receptacles
  • Conduct daily cleaning and disinfection of restrooms
  • Mop floors and clean windows according to schedule
  • Vacuum and perform steam cleaning on carpets
  • Dust and sanitize all surfaces
  • Restock supplies in dispensers
  • Identify and report maintenance issues and safety concerns
  • Engage in emergency preparedness drills
  • Participate in training programs

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successfully complete annual physical examinations and TB screenings
  • Pass a background investigation
