Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist will execute shipping and receiving tasks with a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and the Shipping & Receiving team.
Note: Specialists will typically focus on one area but will be cross-trained to assist in other roles as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment for loading, unloading, and moving materials and products.
- Effectively use overhead cranes for loading and unloading materials or components.
- Conduct cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with all internal departments (accounting, purchasing, customer management, scheduling, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
- Track parts and their locations, entering material movements into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System (Epicor).
- Accurately identify and count all materials, castings, and components.
- Inspect incoming shipments to confirm the accuracy of associated documentation.
- Input necessary information into Epicor and communicate effectively with schedulers, purchasing, and accounting.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and/or inventory management is preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to verbal and written instructions and established protocols.
- A positive, proactive attitude with the capability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Self-motivated and independent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to completing tasks.
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Forklift operation experience is preferred but not mandatory (training available).
