Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Associate to join our team at CarMax. As an Inventory Associate, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily inventory tasks, including vehicle receiving, shipping, and scanning, to ensure accurate product status.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities with the team to optimize processes and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure daily lot maintenance and security of the display areas and work-in-progress zones, adhering to CarMax's 5S standards.
  • Secure and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax, preparing vehicle and title packets for shipping to other locations.
  • Complete scanning of vehicles to ensure accurate product status and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform lot wash and vacuum tasks for customer returns and loaner vehicles, as well as front-lot wash duties.
  • Drive vehicles on and off lot for repairs and storage, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Support auctions and other business activities as assigned by Flow Inventory Associate IVs and Managers.
Requirements
  • Current driver's license and meet CarMax's DSEPS standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to execute processes as defined by work instructions and/or standardized work.
  • Complete Inventory Associate Workstation Certifications & Assigned Workday Learnings.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment, which may include noisy and/or inclement weather conditions. Flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required. The position involves walking or standing for extended periods in a high-energy, fast-paced working environment. CarMax clothing is provided and must be worn at all times while working in the store. Adherence to all CarMax policies, including Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity, TAWR, and Standards of Professional Appearance, is expected.
