Compensation: $14.30 per hour

SUMMARY: This role involves a variety of responsibilities focused on the upkeep and sanitation of vehicles, equipment, and facilities that support public transit operations. Adherence to all organizational policies and regulatory requirements is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct routine cleaning of buses and support vehicles, ensuring both exterior and interior cleanliness, including major cleaning tasks as necessary.
  2. While performing cleaning duties, inspect vehicles for any defects or loose components, and report findings to maintenance staff for further action.
  3. Assist in maintaining cleanliness in facility restrooms and manage waste disposal on site.
  4. Ensure bus stop areas are tidy by emptying trash receptacles and cleaning surfaces and benches, as well as managing vegetation around these areas.
  5. Help maintain the cleanliness of facility grounds by collecting litter and managing spills appropriately.
  6. Perform grass mowing and vegetation management around the main facility as needed.
  7. Safely relocate vehicles within the facility after receiving proper training.
  8. Carry out routine tasks at the fueling station, including checking fluid levels, fueling vehicles, and maintaining cleanliness in the area.
  9. Support the management and organization of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying the Fleet Manager of any shortages.
  10. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace at the fuel island and other assigned areas.
  11. Other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to operate transit vehicles safely and maintain safety standards.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively, even under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Proficient in establishing and nurturing effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Willingness to complete all required training programs in compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Physical capability to perform job-related tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employees may encounter various weather conditions while performing outdoor duties. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur, and the noise level is typically moderate. Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good hearing and vision are essential, including depth perception and color vision. The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, walk, climb, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least six months of cleaning experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • No more than two moving violations in the past year.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability are crucial.
  • Availability for varying shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable communication means are necessary.
