We are seeking highly motivated Principal Cyber Systems Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL.

This engineer will work closely with the Software Factory team on GNI to ensure that various cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational for the customer (MDA). Government security clearance of SECRET or higher is required, and work will be performed at both Northrop Grumman facilities and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Our highly skilled engineers are committed to delivering customer-focused results for our clients and leveraging the latest software and applications to drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project
  • Work closely with the Software Factory team on GNI to ensure cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused results
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure platforms using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
  • Implement agile software principles to drive project success
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship, current DoD Secret clearance or higher
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 7 years of related experience
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security + CE)
  • Strong systems administrator experience in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environments
  • Recent experience working with cloud technologies and platforms
  • Agile software principles and experience with building a plan or roadmap for multiyear programs/products
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Helm Charts and Ansible Technologies
  • Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies
  • Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, and source-controlled management
  • Programming and scripting experience in UNIX and Windows environments
