The **Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)** plays a crucial role in the provision of patient care by utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within a supportive environment. This position involves guiding patient education and activities in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (NPA) and the nurse's qualifications.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of personalized treatment plans by leveraging available resources and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Monitor and document patient vitals accurately.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Facilitate competency restoration services in both individual and group settings, aligned with the patient's treatment objectives.
- Perform controlled substance counts, including syringes and needles, at the start of each shift with a colleague, ensuring proper documentation.
- Execute clinical and technical care protocols in line with established policies and safety standards.
- Administer medications as per healthcare practitioners' directives, adhering to approved techniques and procedures.
- Relay essential information to ancillary departments through established referral channels.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and supervisory personnel as required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the relevant state.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.
