Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales and Service Associate to join our team at Recreational Equipment Inc. As a Sales and Service Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting sales efforts, and maintaining a positive and engaging store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers by responding to product, membership, and service inquiries, and providing solutions to meet their needs.
- Effectively help to prepare the store by maintaining and stocking work areas, ensuring all items are accurately priced.
- Work with store management, visual merchandising, and sales teams to maintain visual standards and promote sales.
- Provide customers with product, membership, and service information, including REI's Mastercard program.
- Process purchase, membership, service, and return transactions at the register, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
- Perform unique transactions, such as special orders, Outdoor School registration, and store mail-outs.
- Identify, research, and resolve customer issues.
- Support Retail Store Pick-Up by assisting with product receipt and customer pick-up processing.
- Maintain customer and employee hold areas, ensuring organization and timely removal of items.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous retail store experience preferred.
- Actively participate and collaborate with others to achieve business goals.
- Flexible in viewpoints and positions to support the direction taken by others.
- Use business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment to solve problems and pursue business opportunities.
- Consolidate information from various sources to reach sound decisions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Build rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization.
- Knowledgeable of outdoor activities in assigned department.
- Consider the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
- Work smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well to produce quality work.
- Execute effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress.
- Act upon opportunities and involve others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
