Bilfinger Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team in Alabama. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems for various industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Select and install pipes and related materials according to job specifications and industry standards.
- Inspect worksites to identify potential obstructions and plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts with other construction activities.
- Cut, thread, and assemble pipes using various tools and equipment.
- Join pipes using threaded, calked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structures using clamps, brackets, and hangers.
- Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
- Test piping systems for leaks and ensure they meet industry standards.
- Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and rate information using measurable standards.
- Capacity to compare and identify differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions, plans, and blueprints.
- Physical ability to see well, coordinate eye movements, use hands and fingers fully, climb ladders and scaffolding, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program is required.
