Job Summary

The Lone Star College-Montgomery is seeking a highly skilled Librarian to support learning through the provision of instruction, reference, and collection development services to a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and community members.

The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure students have access to the resources needed to support the curriculum across multiple modalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and class instruction in the use of library resources to support the development of information literacy skills
  • Provide general reference services in a variety of in-person and electronic formats
  • Serve as liaison to multiple academic departments to provide subject-tailored information literacy instruction, develop research guides, and assist with collection development
  • Assist in maintaining and developing the library's collection including print, audiovisual and electronic resources
  • Evaluate, recommend, introduce, and maintain innovative technology to assist with student learning and success
  • Develop outreach and cocurricular activities for students, faculty, and community partners, in order to promote library services and support cross-disciplinary learning outside of the classroom
  • Administer on-going assessments of library services and programs
  • Meet institutional service and professional development goals as determined in collaboration with dean/director
Requirements

  • Master's degree in Library Science / Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
