Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Center Assistant to join our team at the Gateway Area Development District. The successful candidate will provide support to the Senior Center Director in delivering services to seniors in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist the Senior Center Director in planning and coordinating activities for seniors, including evidence-based exercise programs, nutritional programs, and transportation services.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as answering and directing telephone calls, entering data in the state database system, and conducting assessments and reassessments on congregate and home-delivered meal participants.
  • Transportation Services: Transport seniors to and from the senior center, as well as other locations, and deliver meals to home-delivered meal participants.
  • Confidentiality and Record-Keeping: Maintain confidentiality of all participants and keep accurate records of program activities and participant data.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • Certification and Trainings: Valid Driver's License required. Food Manager's License and CPR/First Aid Certification must be acquired and maintained after hiring.
  • Experience: Entry-Level Position. One (1) year of related experience and/or related internship required; two (2) years of related experience and/or related internship preferred.
Working Conditions

The Senior Center Assistant will work in an indoor office environment and may be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The position requires the ability to lift and carry approximately 60 pounds and to operate a vehicle.

Benefits

The Gateway Area Development District offers a competitive salary of $13.00 per hour and a 20-hour-per-week schedule. The position will remain open until filled.
