Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Infectious Disease Physician to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our Department of Medicine and Department of Patient Safety and Quality, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical activities as defined in the privileging documents for this provider and deliver superior patient care by determining and assessing the health status of patients, monitoring and evaluating their medical condition, making decisions regarding treatment changes, and referring patients to specialized services as needed.
  • Initiate, perform, or direct other healthcare professionals to perform screenings and diagnostic tests.
  • Serve as a teacher for students seeking clinical experience at Denver Health and provide education for postgraduate medical trainees.
  • Provide leadership to improve outcomes and service quality.
  • Work to ensure personnel, department, and organization are in compliance with all legal and educational requirements.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited medical school and completed accredited residency programs and fellowships for specialists, or equivalent.
  • MD-Physician license in the State of Colorado or eligibility for licensure.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Diseases.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Ability to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels, and value systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
