Coastal Villages Region Fund is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seafood Processor to join our team aboard the F/T Northern Hawk. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for converting raw fish products into high-quality processed products ready for sale.
Key Responsibilities- Processing Operations: Sort fish by species, operate machines, hand fillet whole fish, and inspect products to meet quality standards.
- Product Handling: Package, weigh, label, and store products in freezers, as well as load and unload supplies on the vessel.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean factory equipment, maintain a safe and clean workspace, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience: Previous processing experience aboard a factory trawler is strongly preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work long and variable shifts, lift 20-50 pounds, and perform tasks in a strenuous and sometimes hazardous environment.
- Basic Mental Functions: Ability to perform intermediate math, understand and apply basic functions in stressful environments, and read, speak, and write in English.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the ability to work in a cramped environment, withstand extreme cold, and maintain a positive attitude in a team-oriented setting.
