Overview
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Nursing Assistant provides essential support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses. This role is crucial in ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Assist with various patient care tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and performing basic lab procedures. Ensure that all care is documented accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Technical Procedures: Execute delegated technical tasks, such as applying dressings, assisting with medical procedures, and observing patients' responses to treatments.
  • Support Staff: Aid healthcare professionals by collecting specimens, maintaining patient records, and communicating any changes in patient conditions.
  • Customer Service: Interact with patients and their families in a respectful and courteous manner, ensuring a positive experience and promoting satisfaction.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient care and activities, utilizing electronic systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Patient Mobility: Safely lift, position, and transport patients as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transfers.
  • Emergency Response: Respond effectively to emergency situations, alerting the appropriate personnel as necessary.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Continuous Education: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to patient care.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all supplies and equipment are ready for use.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing assistant or medical assistant program is required.
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
  • State certification as a Nurse Aide is required within a specified timeframe.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in a nursing assistant role.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Occasional climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Constant communication and interaction with patients and staff.
