Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, with a preference for those with orthopedic expertise. You should be well-versed in the role of an Orthopedic Care Specialist and have advanced knowledge beyond basic concepts. Excellent communication skills and alignment with MSA's mission of delivering exceptional patient care are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient health: Conduct thorough interviews, physical examinations, and review medical histories to determine patient needs.
- Determine abnormal conditions: Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret results to identify potential health issues.
- Develop treatment plans: Create personalized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and/or injections, to address patient needs.
- Provide office call coverage: Handle patient concerns and medical issues as they arise, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Collaborate with physicians: Work closely with physicians in both office and surgical settings to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide patient education: Educate patients on treatment plans and provide support to enhance their understanding and adherence.
- Assist in surgical procedures: Participate in surgical procedures and provide call coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience: As an Orthopedic Care Specialist, with orthopedic experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Orthopedic Care Specialist role and advanced knowledge in the field.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Completion of an accredited program: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure/certification: Current Georgia licensure as an advanced practice nurse or certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications are required.
- Proficiency with EHR: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is essential.
